Position Description :

The Claims Operations Manager is responsible for management and administration of multiple functions, or management of general business operations within Claims Department. Positions in this function are responsible for providing expertise or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing and adjusting claims. Authorizes the appropriate payment or refers claims to investigators for further review. Conducts data entry and re-work; analyzes and identifies trends and provides reports as necessary.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily operations of multiple levels of staff and multiple functions across one or more business units. 
  • Manage day to day site operations, supervisor leadership (internal and external to organization), and accountability for financial and non-financial results (budgets and actual's).
  • Provide expertise or general claims support to teams in reviewing, researching, investigating, negotiating, processing and adjusting claims. 
  • Authorize the appropriate payment or refers claims to investigators for further review.
  • Conduct data entry and re-work; analyzes and identifies trends and provides reports as necessary.
  • Lead project management and implementation initiatives.
  • Manages and is accountable for professional employees and/or supervisors.
  • Impact of work is most often at the local level.

Requirements

Requirements:




  • High school diploma or GED

  • 3+ years supervisory/managerial experience in claims adjudication or customer service

  • 2+ years managing relationships with clients and/or vendors

  • Intermediate skills with Excel and PowerPoint required 
Assets:



  • Undergraduates degree or higher preferred

  • Understanding of claims processing systems

  • 2+ years managing budgets, process improvement and quality assurance preferred

  • Senior Level Supervisory/Managerial experience in medical claims preferred
