Lead IT Data Warehouse Developer- MN - Full-time / Part-time

This candidate will function in multiple roles, including both leading development activity and assisting with application architecture.  This will include all aspects of project-estimation, coding and testing, the creation and maintenance of system and data flows, application and database designs as well as mentoring others in a development capacity.  Often involves detailed data profiling, query and system design for multiple systems and databases across a variety of technologies and platforms including Oracle, Informatica, Datastage, Hadoop, SAS, and others.

Responsibilities

• Lead both onshore and offshore development teams to achieve key business objectives


• Develop innovative solutions to meet both the immediate and emerging needs of the business


• Translates highly complex concepts in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences


• Developing pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends


• Collaborate with the team on application and database architecture design, the development of business strategy


• Troubleshoot complex production support issues post release deployment and come up with solutions.


• Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business


• Will be expected to function as a mentor for junior developers, providing assistance where needed


• Involvement with senior management in terms of supplying input for key design and architecture decisions, as well as work estimation and resource planning.

Requirements

• 5 or more years of IT experience with expertise in data warehousing and business intelligence platforms


• 5 or more years of development or similar experience with relational databases (Oracle, Teradata, SQL, etc.)


• 5 or more years of development and/or architecture experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Datastage, etc.)


• Experience leading and guiding onshore/offshore design and development teams


• Previous, proven experience as a lead developer and/or system/application-architect


• Strong design artifact experience in documentation of data flow, data mapping and data exchange specifications


• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience

Assets

• Knowledge and professional experience in Hadoop / HDFS and related


• Knowledge and experience in DBMS performance and tuning


• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)


• Proficiency with MS Visio


• Healthcare Industry experience
