About this job

As a hands on Datawarehouse  Development Lead you will lead, manage, or assist in managing a dynamic team with a focus on Data Warehousing, Analytics and Reporting.   You will work in a hands-on, fast-paced, high change environment leading the design, build and deployment of various Data Warehouse applications' utilizing multiple tools, languages, processes, and technologies.


 


Primary Responsibilities



  • Will be responsible for the design, coding, testing, debugging, documentation, delivery and support of Data Warehousing Applications

  • Manage the efficient and effective applications and tools consistent with established specifications and business requirements

  • As the Development Lead, you will be expected to be a hand's on leader and will lead and participate in defining technical solutions on all key projects and critical issues

  • As the Technical Leader, will be responsible for the solution design, build and delivery of all technical solutions

  • Lead the establishment of systems development protocols utilizing UHG standards

  • Functions as the lead of the Applications development team that consists of offshore and onshore employees and contractors

  • Will be expected to plan, schedule, assign, direct, review, supervise and manage the development team

  • Will be expected to forecast and manage capacity/demand against actuals

  • Perform related follow-up and work coordination activities, including reporting and metrics

  • Key contributor in requirements definition of most complex business initiatives

  • Plan, organize and lead technical aspects of large scale projects to successful conclusion

  • Perform general management functions including participating in technical assessments, performance reviews, mentoring, hiring, and training

  • Responsible for planning, design, construction and implementation of various healthcare applications including Analytics, Reporting and Data Warehouses to meet business strategy and vision

  • Lead/Manage the development function for the design, development, and unit testing of features/functions delivered via applications and/or services

  • The ability to be a critical thinking, creative problem solver that provides strong scalable solutions

  • The ability to drive developer productivity through strong design and development processes along with design patterns and reusability concepts

  • Ability to successfully work across various IT development organizations

  • Ability to lead others toward technical accomplishment, as a collaborative project team, in order to achieve project goals

  • Ability to adapt quickly to fast-paced, high change environment

Requirements


  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable area of expertise or equivalent experience

  • 3 or more years of experience in developing Data Warehousing solutions through implementation

  • 3 or more years of ETL tools experience (ie. DataStage, SSIS)

  • 5 or more years of experience with the System Development Life Cycle

  • 3 or more years of Software Development experience in leading all phases of development (design, development, QA and Production Support)

  • Demonstrated experience in building new applications

Assets



  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access)

  • Proficiency in Data Warehousing tools and technologies

  • Proficiency with MS Visio

  • Healthcare Industry experience

  • Previous experience with onsite and remote/offshore team members
