Senior ETL Application Developer, Eden Prairie MN or Rocky Hill CT

In this exciting role, you will participate in the systems development life cycle for new development, enhancements and maintenance projects in Data Warehouse/Data Analytics environment.  As a member of the Delivery Management team, you will lead development project teams to design, develop and deploy ETL software needed to support a variety of business needs. The position will report to a resource manager, but will be matrixes to project managers for completion of project activity.

  Research, evaluate, identify alternative approaches to support development needs

  Recommend, design and code efficient and effective solutions for challenging problems for medium to large work efforts of medium to high complexity

  Comply with standards and guidelines related to the design, construction, testing, and deployment activities within the Delivery Management environments


• 
  
  Demonstrate collaborative skills working within a project team of diverse skills


• 
  
  Bring strong communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills plus creativity, and problem solving skills to a challenging environment

  Provide guidance and direction to less-seasoned staff

  Expertise with BTEQ, Fast load, Fast export concepts in Teradata


• 
  
  Expertise in performance tuning by using Explain Plan, Creating appropriate indexes, queries optimization, utilizing table spaces, partitioning schemes in oracle


• 
  
  Expertise in developing and maintaining overall Test Methodology and Strategy, Documenting Test Plans, Test Cases and editing, executing Test Cases and Test Scripts


• 
  
  Expertise in resolving data issues, complete unit testing and complete system documentation for ETL processes


• 
  
  Proficient in producing project estimation, timeline scheduling, resource forecasting, communicating key milestones to IT management and clients, Task scheduling and status tracking.

  Experience in leading and mentoring team members on both functional and technical aspects

Requirements:

• 
  
  Bachelor degree and minimum 7 years of overall IT experience in Data warehousing Applications design, Development, Testing and Project Management


• 
  
  Minimum 5 years of experience in ETL Development and Design using IBM WebSphere Datastage8.1 Enterprise and Teradata(Teradata with Expertise with BTEQ, Fast load, Fast export concepts in Teradata)


• 
  
  Expertise in Data stage issue resolution, debugging and application performance tuning, DS jobs tuning.


• 
  
  Expertise in extracting data from various versions of Oracle, Db2 and Teradata Database using Data stage.  Also should able to load the data into multiple heterogeneous data bases.


• 
  
  Proficient in UNIX korn Shell Scripting


• 
  
  Experience in creating project design documents High Level Design Document, Software Requirement Specification, Mid-Level Platform Application design Document(MLPD), Detailed Platform Application Design Document (DPAD)
