BEVERAGE MANAGER

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising and managing the daily operations and staff of the lounge.

Essential Functions:
Beverage:
· Manage and/or establish as needed all alcohol service polices and procedure for the bar and in banquets.
· Responsible for maintaining and conducting monthly liquor inventory and beverage costs.
· Responsible for purchasing, storing and controls on all alcoholic beverages.
· Responsible for training, supervising and monitoring alcohol awareness programs such as TIPS to ensure staff are educated in responsible alcohol service standards and to include hotel policies and procedures are being adhered to.
· Maintain a strong floor presence in the bar and in banquet alcohol service functions.

21st Amendment Bar and Grill:
· Train all staff for job competence to ensure Food and Beverage service standards for guest and for brand are upheld to the highest levels.
· Schedule staff according to forecasted business levels and budget.
· Responsible for training and monitoring compliance of staff with guest check procedures.
· Ensure all guests are greeted at the door and that their service is tender promptly.
· Respond, manage and report as needed all restaurant guest or staff challenges. Communicate as necessary to F&B Director.

Core Strengths:
· Strong effective internal and external communications skills.
· Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
· Hands on position. Ability to work on your feet for hours at time.

Marketing:
· Responsible to manage and maintain social media advertising.
· Develop and implement creative strategies to increase revenue and average checks. Responsible for developing, implementing, merchandising, and assessing in-house promotions, special events, happy hour, etc.
· Responsible for researching, qualifying, and booking all entertainment in the bar.

Housekeeping:
· Responsible for training, supervising and monitoring food and beverage sanitation and safety procedures in the 21st Amendment Bar and Grill and in alcohol service functions.
· Coordinate opening and closing responsibilities. Maintain high level of cleaning standards in all areas to include beverage storage areas.
· Monitor food and beverage presentations. Ensure they are in within the guidelines established by the Chef.

· Report any immediate concerns/problems/situations to security and/or immediate supervisor and/or MOD.
· Adhere to all work rules, procedures and policies established by the hotel, including but not limited to, those contained in the employee handbook.
· Demonstrate leadership qualities as outlined in the DHS Leadership Job Requirement Chart.

Education and Experience:

Certified in an alcohol awareness program (such as TIPS) or equivalent or willing to obtain in the first ninety days.
Retains an ABC Certified Managers license or willing to obtain in the first 90 days.
Previous restaurant/bar supervisory experience required.
High school degree and some college preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Ability to stand and walk for long periods at a time.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to remain calm and composed utilizing sound judgment skills in difficult situations.
