Responsibilities and duties:
  • Quote and source all production raw materials and purchased parts.
  • Work with Quality Control to qualify vendor base.
  • Provide suppliers with standard terms and conditions and performance expectation.
  • Analyze company's purchased requirements and establish appropriate standard packaging.
  • Investigate feasibility of using returnable containers.
  • Investigate supplier potential for scheduling via Kan-Ban.
  • Work with IS to establish electronic data links with suppliers wherever possible.
  • Establish vendor base for all direct MRO items.
  • Ensure that vendor complies with company standards.
  • Analyze inventory requirements.
  • Develop aggregate inventory plan.
  • Develop in-bound/out-bound transportation consolidation program.
  • Receive one-month training in company information systems in Germany or Hungary.
  • Implement production/inventory control systems.


Specific function related duties:
  • Follow up of all purchase contracts issued.
  • Establish contact with key customer personnel including Purchasing, Production Scheduling/Logistics and Quality Control.
  • Train production and inventory control personnel.
  • Acquire MRO items.
  • Prepare and control all purchase orders.
  • Provide suppliers with standard terms and conditions and performance expectation.


Qualifications
  • Five years automotive experience is preferred but not required.
  • Applicants should have solid logistics background and experience in organizing and implementing computerized Information Systems for logistics applications.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with steel fabrication, injection molding and die costing are lightly desirable. Familiarity with the plant's manufacturing process and equipment is preferred but not required.
  • General industrial background to comply with safe work practices and address the safety of others in all assigned tasks.
  • Candidates should be able to work independently, have good organizational skills, strong initiative, and attention to preciseness and detail.
