Operates an "articulating" vehicle (i.e. Tractor-Trailer combination). Picks up and delivers mail from customer sites and performs the following duties:
  • Inspects products to verify conformance to customer andUnited States Postal Service, presort slugs and a pickup slip is attachedwith each order prior to loading on the truck.
  • Inspects assigned vehicle per the PB Presort Services pre-trip inspection guidelines and procedures daily. Reports any defective findings to the Transportation Supervisor to be fixed immediately.
  • Maintains a daily driver's log for mileage and cargo where required by DOT regulations.
  • Assists in other areas as needed between assigned pickups.
  • Keeps vehicle clean.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualification


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and meet or exceed the requirements listed below. These requirements are not all inclusive but are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.   • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License in the state you reside.
  • Ability to drive tractor-trailer combination.
  • Ability to meet and comply with all applicable US Department of Transportation requirements.
  • Ability to regularly sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to occasionally bend/stoop.
  • Ability to lift, push and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to read a map and understand directions.
  • Good written and oral communication skills. Must have the ability to read, write and speak basic English.
  • Good customer service skills.
  • Ability to learn, understand and become knowledgeable with United States Postal Service regulations and managing standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance as scheduled.
  • One year or more experience driving similar sized vehicles
