The Senior Provider Relations Advocate is responsible for the full range of provider relations and service interactions within UnitedHealth Group, including working on end-to-end provider claim and call quality, ease of use of physician portal and future service enhancements, provider satisfaction, and training & development of external provider education programs. Senior Provider Relations Advocates design and implement programs to build and nurture positive relationships between the health plan, providers and practice managers. Responsibilities also include directing and implementing strategies relating to the development and management of a provider network, identifying gaps in network composition and services to assist the network contracting and development staff. 


 


This role will be critical to implementation of My Care Ohio in northern Ohio. This plan covers dual eligible Medicare/Medicaid individuals who will migrate to My Care Ohio in 2014. The ideal candidate will have managed care experience working with Skilled Nursing Facilities. The candidate must live within or near the Northern Ohio territory (the areas near Youngstown) and travel to provider locations in and around that area. The incumbent will also report to the Cleveland office each week to attend staff meeting.


 


In this role you will be expected to:
- Assess and interpret customer needs and requirements.
- Identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems.
- Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks.
- Provide explanations and information to others on difficult issues.
- Act as a resource for others with less experience.

Requirements

Requirements:


- 3+ years managed care or health care experience.


- 2+ years experience with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.


- Proficiency with MS Office applications including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.


 


Assets/Desired:
- 2+ years of provider relations and/or provider network experience.


- Previous experience working with Skilled Nursing Facilities.
- Intermediate level of proficiency in claims processing and issue resolution.
- Exceptional presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and remain on task.
- Good organization and planning skills.
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines from within and outside of the department.
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience.
