Primary Purpose and Function

Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from stockroom, warehouse, or facility. Keep records and compile stock reports. Maintain stockroom, warehouse, and facility in compliance with all food/safety regulations. Strict adherence to all state, city, county regulations pertaining to food preparation and packaging.

Essential Function and Operations
  • Detail oriented. Must have an understanding of “Lot Codes”, “Good Manufacturing Processes”, and “HACCP Principals”.
  • Must be trained and certified to drive a forklift, both propane and electric.
  • Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using computer.
  • Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
  • Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock, and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
  • Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas based on a “First In” “First Out” practices.
  • Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
  • Clean and maintain supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas in order to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
  • Keep records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.
  • Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
  • Provide assistance or direction to other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
  • Physical requirements include: bending, lifting of items up to 50lbs in weight. Working in a hot and or cold environment.


Knowledge and Skill
  • Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
  • Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, designing forms, and other office procedures and terminology.
  • English Language — Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
  • Customer and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
