The Senior Actuarial Analyst will perform mathematical analyses and actuarial modeling that provides management with statistical findings and conclusions. In this role you will interpret rate regulations, keep up with regulation changes and submit rate filings to comply with regulations and negotiate with the state during the approval process while helping health plan to achieve both business and financial goal. The analyses will impact foundational pricing and risk assumptions. The analyst will analyze and implement changes that impact the foundational pricing and risk assumptions.   Responsibilities may also include calculation of reserves, development of program rates and forecasting/trend analysis.  Collaborate with other functional teams in order to achieve the common goals.



  • Responsibilities include:

  • Data analysis

  • Interpret state requirements

  • Actuarial modeling

  • Designing and running complex data programs

  • Performing quantitative analysis of actuarial, financial, utilization and costs data

  • Serves as a resource to others

  • Working closely with underwriting for group specific pricing

Requirements

Requirements:


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or a related degree required
Near ASA, ASA or FSA designation required (Candidates must be on the Actuarial exam track)
4+ years of actuarial experience in healthcare preferred
Experience in all aspects of group pricing and rate filing preferred
Advanced proficiency with MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables, macros, lists, statistical functions, etc.)
Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Access
Strong verbal and written communication skills required
Located in Trumbull, CT preferred but open for other locations
