Position: Is Part Time, with the ability to go full time in the future.
Hours: The hours of our mobile drives are held at the convenience of the community, company, or facility that is hosting our drive. Staff are scheduled based on business need and could include any time early morning, days, evenings, weekends, and long shifts. Occasionally, 3rd shift drives are scheduled.
Training: All Staff hired into the Donor Collections Department are required to attend training. The initial training includes New Employee Orientation, Standard Operator Procedures, Screening, and Phlebotomy. At the completion of the Screening training, staff will be required to pass a “Competencyâ€. The competency includes a written exam and a practical exam. Upon successful completion of the Screening Competency, that staff will then start the Phlebotomy training. Blood Donor phlebotomy training is provided to all new staff regardless of prior phlebotomy experience. Staff will be trained in the Phlebotomy procedure and technique and will be required to complete 10 successful sticks in the presence of a trainer. After the 10 sticks are complete, the staff will be assigned a mentor and will work with the mentor to complete an additional 90 successful sticks. Upon successful completion of the sticks, staff are required to complete another Competency. The competency includes written exams and a practical exam. Upon successful completion of the competency, the staff is then provided their own schedule.
