Web developer (C++ / C)

A startup with a revolutionary, patented data security idea is looking for a short-term contract developer (full-time or part-time) to help create a solid beta based on a detailed technical specification. We have invented, patented, built a basic prototype, and marketed a data security technology that allows for the secure processing of SQL queries. We’re looking for a web programmer to help convert our basic prototype into a good beta that can be marketed to potential clients (who had been impressed with the work we previously demonstrated). The beta needs to work fast. REQUIRED SKILLS Strong programming expertise in C++ (or C) with emphasis on performance analysis/tuning Web programming experience, including the setting up and configuration of web servers, application servers, and Web Services Ability to use or program mechanisms that redirect HTTP requests from browsers to alternate servers for additional processing Ability to parse and convert HTTP requests/responses into other HTTP requests/responses and forward them to other servers Knowledge of SQL Open source or other tools can certainly be used to speed development. You will be working with several senior IT professionals. Our small team contains a former Chief Security Officer and a senior DBA. Team members have long technology careers and strong knowledge of enterprise IT architecture, as well as expertise in the financial services, telecommunications, and healthcare verticals. Your compensation will be cash. We are looking for a developer who can work at least 20-25 hours per week part-time or can commit to a full-time short-term contract. We are also located in the metropolitan NYC area. While it would be nice to work with local folks, for the right skill set, we could work with individuals anywhere.
