We are seeking candidates who have consulting experience as it relates to Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D.

 

PBM

We are seeking candidates who have consulting experience relating to third party administrator of prescription drug programs, pharmacy, administration of claims and benefits, drug utilization, distribution, disease management, and volume purchasing.

 

Clinical

We are seeking candidates who have consulting experience as it relates to payor disease and utilization management, HIN, ICD10 business processes, technology assessment, planning, remediation and compliance.

 

Core Administer Delivery / Program Management

We are seeking candidates with consulting experience involving cost containment, process improvement, provider contracting, project management and Health Care Reform.

 

Product Development

We are seeking candidates with consulting experience within health plans for market assessments and sizing competitive intelligence, sales management and distribution, network development, and vertical integration.

Experienced Consultants will provide technical, project management, business process redesign, analytical support, and strategic advisory services in a consulting environment to our Health Plan Consulting sector clients.  The job functions include the following:

 


  • Provide management consulting advisory services to executives in the insurance industry across business functions such as underwriting, claims, IT, finance and accounting

  • Lead project work streams and engagements including the management of staff

  • Support clients' most strategic business transformation projects including: issue analysis and business case development, process redesign, technical and functional requirements design assistance, and operational improvement

  • Lead in Project management of complex projects consisting of diverse practitioners across Technology, Strategy & Operations, and Outsourcing

  • Coordinate with other professionals across Optum in delivering comprehensive solutions for clients

  • Lead practice management opportunities (e.g. people management, service offering development, etc.) for the Health Plan Consulting practice

 

Requirements




  • Bachelor's Degree (BS or BA) and/or Master of Business Administration preferred

  • 8 or more years of experience in an Healthcare insurance company

  • Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time **see note

  • Strong consulting experience required either with external or internal consulting

  • Must have experience in Government Program (Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and Medicare Part D) and/or PBM and/or Clinical and/or Core Administer Delivery / Program Management and/or Product Management

  • Operational experience across various insurance functions including claims, underwriting, distribution, reinsurance, and finance or consulting experience with a major firm having delivered projects to healthcare industry clients

  • Project experience in business process improvement and re-engineering, new technology/systems deployments, strategy and planning

  • Quantitative ability to analyze data

  • Quick learner that enjoys a stream of new challenges

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products with a focus on PowerPoint and Excel

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to effectively work in a team environment and as an individual

  • Strong work ethic and desire to help clients improve their businesses

**Typical travel for this position is to fly out early on Monday and fly back late on Thursday, working from your home office on Friday or any day you are not physically at the client site. Travel is typically weekly.
