We are not just looking for people who have care giving skills - our most important criteria is that you have a good heart and love our seniors...! Our CAREGivers have an opportunity to really make a difference in someone's life and so we are looking for people we would consider to look after our own loved one.
               

General Homemaker Companion duties include
, but are not limited to:
  • Companionship and conversation
  • Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
  • Medication and appointment reminders
  • Incidental transportation
  • REQUIRED: - Ability to stoop, bend, twist and lift up to 25lbs
*No previous professional experience is necessary for our Homemaker Companion position - skills orientation provided by Home Instead Senior Care*
 

Requirements to be a Home Instead Senior Care CAREGiver:
(Supporting Documentation will be required at interview stage)
  • Social Security Card
  • Valid FL Driver's License
  • Valid auto insurance listing you as a 'named' driver
  • Complete a pre-employment criminal background check, DMV check and drug screen
  • AHCA requires our CAREGivers to be fingerprinted - Level II FBI. There is a cost to you for fingerprinting through the system. We will be able to register you if necessary after a successful interview - the cost is $76.50 and the AHCA system will only accept debit or credit cards.

We offer you a career path as a CAREGiver with Home Instead - we have many CAREGiver Development classes throughout the year which not only enhance your knowledge of senior care, but teach definite skills you can use in your everyday role. 

We also look to our Homemaker Companions when we are recruiting for Home Health Aides - we offer suitable Companions the opportunity to go through our dedicated 'Conversion Class' taught by our RN Educator and advance in their career to become Home Health Aides. This role offers a higher rate of pay and, usually, additional hours for your schedule.
