Position Summary:
The Sr. Healthcare Financial Analyst is responsible for maximizing and sustaining business success through the disciplined use of facts, data, and statistical analyses that enable the Reporting and Outcomes department to support, improve, and lead the re-engineering of critical business processes. This position influences highly effective teams in the collection and transformation of data into purposeful information. This information, once developed, will be used to identify strengths and opportunities throughout our organization in order to achieve and sustain a strategic advantage.


General Responsibilities:
• Primarily interacts with Medical Management, Finance, Actuary, and Provider Contracting leadership to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and to lead efforts to improve the quality and affordability of healthcare.
• The focus of this position includes, but is not limited to, appropriate utilization, cost reduction, risk stratification and predictive modeling, operational planning and improvement, and quality improvement.
• This position influences decision making and program design at all levels within the organization through the logical and persuasive presentation of fact-based ideas and opinions.
• Analyze data and trends and create documentation supporting all of the reports.
• Prepare written analysis and summarize results using graphical representations and professional formatting.
• Ensure that reports support the overall scope of company's business strategies. 
• Maintain data integrity and ongoing quality control of delivered reports.
• Work closely with all levels of end users, including executive level staff, to quickly develop reports which will be used to make strategic business decisions.
• Create detailed documentation outlining report criteria and provide recommendations to the requestor based on the results of the report.
• Initiate new projects that benefit the goals of the company.
• Create ad hoc and standard reports using various reporting tools for different functional areas of the company
• Assess reporting results through data investigation, analysis, and evaluation

Requirements

Required Education & Work Experience:
• Bachelor's degree
• Advanced Degree in related field preferred
• 6+ years healthcare data analytics
• Experience with SQL Server Reporting Services a plus


Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Exceptional analytic and critical thinking skills, written and oral communication skills, and consulting skills
• Ability to lead analyses and direct, motivate, and organize teams
• Proven ability to lead and work effectively with all levels of the organization, across various business functions and segments
• In depth understanding of some of the following: health care industry, health insurance, medical practice, population and disease management, health care data including medical coding and billing, health care administration, program evaluation methods and outcomes measurement, research design and / or advanced statistical methods
• Extensive professional experience in data analysis and report design/development
• Extensive knowledge of reporting programs and tools
• In-depth knowledge and experience with relational database concepts and query tools
• Sound knowledge of SQL and data extraction methodologies
