Labor Ready is currently looking for a Sign Makers in Bloomington, IL area.  These are temporary positions working 20m-25 hours per week Monday - Friday. The pay rate is based on experience.

 

Job Duties:

Under general direction, the Sign Maker is responsible for all aspects of the physical construction of signs. Sign Makers are responsible for assembling sign from computer cut vinyl as well as from wide format full color printouts and various substrates. Sign assembly includes correctly preparing substrates and applying vinyl according to written instructions. The Sign Maker must also mount and/or laminate printed graphics and is responsible for operating and setting-up a laminator for over-laminating, encapsulation, or mounting of printed products. Sign Maker must also proofread conduct quality assurance and follow best practice efficiencies to ensure the highest quality product for customers.

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates MUST have the following:

• Follow a layout to place computer-generated vinyl of full color graphic image on a predetermined substrate or medium.
•  Accurately prepare substrates for vinyl application – may include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, and maintaining the substrates for vinyl application
•  Weed excess vinyl from computer cuttings
•  Perform quality assurance measures pre and post construction by accurately reading and interpreting a work order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards (bubbles, ragged edges, loose seams)
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating, encapsulating, and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Thread laminating or encapsulating material into machine, set temperature, pressure, and side guides for proper feeding of material
• Operate the laminator maintaining proper fit and settings, and feed material into laminator
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to manager
• Help unload and store raw materials
• Clean maintain storage areas
• Maintain production rate consistency
• Run proof sheet and secure approval for production run from supervisor
• Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs

Perform sign installations as necessary

• Weeding and taping
• Aligning vinyl on a substrate
•  Using squeegee
•  Operating power equipment
• Ability to stand for long period of time
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Easy –going, adaptable personality, positive “get it done” attitude
• Noise level in work environment is low to moderate

Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and sue back and forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate

 Willing to submit to a background check and drug screen
