Part-Time Activities Assistant

Responsibilities:

As a Part-Time Activities Assistant, you'll assist in planning, implementation and evaluation of on-going program of activities designed to meet the interests and the physical, mental and psychosocial well being of each resident. Discover a rewarding career helping our residents improve their daily living skills by promoting resident socialization, expanding their personal interests, increasing their physical activity, and continuing their education. This position will work Saturday and Sunday.

Qualifications:

Position requirements include:

• Strong verbal/written communication skills.
• Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served.
• Must have 36-hour Activity Leader course.
• Excellent organization skills, attention to detail.
• At least one year experience in conducting group activities.
• Knowledgeable in evaluating resident needs.
• Ability to set up and train volunteers.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors and the general public.
• Must have compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.
• Must be 18 years of age and have completed high school or the GED.
• Must meet all health requirements, including TB, and pass background checks.
