Pitney Bowes Software is currently seeking a Senior Software Engineer to work on our MapInfo Professional application. MapInfo Professional is a powerful Microsoft Windows-based mapping and geographic analysis application from the experts in location intelligence. Designed to easily visualize the relationships between data and geography, MapInfo Professional helps business analysts, planners, GIS professionals - even non-GIS users - gain new insights into their markets, share information-rich maps and graphs and improve strategic decision-making. The right candidate will be an integral part of our talented team, leading (supporting) our continued growth.

This position will be located in our Troy, New York, USA office.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Design and development in an agile software development environment.
Serve as a advisory technical contributor; participate in, and drive contribute to the analysis of project requirements, design, and estimation of project components, implementation of these components, and debugging, re-factoring and maintenance of project components.
Assume responsibility for acquiring knowledge of the technologies and applications necessary to complete the assigned tasks.
Lead / participate actively in design discussions, bringing his/her perspective to product design.
Design and build quality in the software via unit tests, test plans and test-driven development.
Conform to company standards while writing code, documentation and project artifacts.

Qualification

Required Qualifications:

B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience is required
Minimum of 7+ years of development experience required in a combination of the languages - C# and .NET required
Windows UI development - Win32 API/WPF
Must have experience with software development projects with complex system designs
Strong interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in consuming Web Services from a .Net client application
Experience with WMS / WFS / GML / OGC
Experience with XML
Good working knowledge of database management systems such as SQL Server, PostGIS and Oracle.
Experience with Spatial Data Management
Experience with C/C++programming
Knowledge of concurrent programming (thread safety, background worker threads, parallel processing).
Knowledge of Scrum
Experience with spatial technologies, GIS, CAD or asset management applications
Experience with build environment, continuous integration and TeamCity
Experience working with remote teams in an agile environment
