Spee Dee Delivery Service provides a reliable, economical overnight delivery service to over 9,000 shippers throughout the Upper Midwest. We currently have 35 Company locations employing approximately 1,700 employees and operating 1,200 vehicles. Our St. Cloud Headquarters branch currently has an opening for a Mechanic position.
The Mechanic position involves utilizing proper safety equipment and procedures at all times for a safe work environment, performing inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment, executing repairs on specific problems that drivers document, checking oil in all delivery vehicles every morning, traveling on road calls to vehicles that necessitate repair, diagnosing electrical and mechanical problems, and maintaining shop cleanliness. Mechanics may also, fuel vehicles as needed, park vehicles in designated route spots, and prepare and maintain records and reports.
A qualified candidate for this position must have considerable knowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in vehicle and equipment repair and maintenance, be able to pass a DOT physical and lift up to 100 pounds, and have skill in operation of manual transmission vehicles and equipment for diagnostic purposes. A technical degree is preferred, and all candidates must have possession of traditional hand tools and a lockable tool chest, and be able to work overtime.
