The Manager of Supplier Diversity is passionate and leads the company's efforts to identify, expand and accelerate the use of Minority-owned, Women-owned, Small disadvantaged, Veteran-owned, and HUB Zone business enterprises for a $1.2 Billion Spend. This role establishes strategy, leads implementation, on-going management and reporting activities for both Diverse and Key Suppliers. The position is a high profile role and represents the company on various public events and boards.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Directs the Supplier Diversity initiative and acts as the single point of contact for interaction with all stakeholders to advance Supplier Diversity and maximized Supplier Partnerships.
  • Engages supplier outreach, due diligence, and networking to build relationships and monitor diverse supplier market opportunities through a variety of tactics.
  • Champions strategy and tactics to the Global Procurement organization through policies, procedures, training and hands on support.
  • Establishes metrics and measurements for outreach, sourcing, awards, diversity spend, and other performance criteria to be used by Procurement for diverse vendors.
  • Works closely with Sr. Leaders in HR, Government Sector Sales and Contracting, and Enterprise Sales to achieve company objectives.
  • Provides executives and leadership updates on business and regulatory environment.
  • Acts as the Primary interface to the Proposals area for all Company RFP responses to Supplier Diversity questions.
  • Compiles data, prepares and maintains reporting responsibility for Federal, State, Local and Commercial diversity programs.
  • Monitors the Program against all company and departmental goals and scorecard objectives.
  • Maintains Diverse Supplier databases and relevant contract data elements.
  • Attends supplier fairs, conferences, and trade events both locally and nationally.
  • Identify and implements diverse supplier resources, data bases or technology improvements.
  • Keeps current with all regulatory and governmental requirements related to supplier diversity.
  • Develops strategic supplier stratification criteria, reporting and guidelines.

Qualification

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree, preferably in business, procurement, logistics or related discipline required. - Program Management or other Project Management course work preferred. - Supplier Diversity program management experience preferred

EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Experience:
  • 7+ years of supplier diversity, purchasing and/or contracting experience in a commercial environment, including vendor outreach, supplier management, procurement pre-planning, project management, bid document preparation (RFP), due diligence, source selection and contract negotiation. Certification in CPM, CACM, CPCM or CIRM is desired
  • Experience in leading multifunctional project teams and managing in a matrix environment.


Knowledge:
  • Skills, knowledge, and experience in supplier diversity, vendor outreach, supplier management, procurement, contracting, project management, supplier management, contract administration, purchasing, budgeting, accounting and finance.
  • Knowledge of general legal and regulatory concepts (FARs, Uniform Commercial Code, Sherman, Robinson-Patman etc.) and purchasing law. - Requires an expert working knowledge of prequalification, bid and due diligence processes, and the ability to complete financial and commercial risk assessments.
  • Knowledge of government subcontract reporting requirements such as Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), GO 156 (California), etc.


Skills:
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Outlook Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Financial analysis, cost, and total cost-of-ownership analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including problem solving, listening and relationship building.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong presentation skills are required.
  • Conflict resolution. Ability to look beyond normal parameters to reach business solutions. Must be a creative out-of-box thinker.
  • Must be a self-starter and be able to deal with demanding situations on a day-to-day basis.
  • Maintains a sense of urgency and excellence.
