Role Mission:
The Financial Analyst is responsible for performing the necessary tasks to complete the period closing process in SAP, including the calculation, analysis, and reporting of variances and balance sheet reconciliations. Oversee the cycle count and inventory control program for raw materials, finished goods, and maintenance parts, ensuring inventory accuracy, obsolescence tracking, and finance support for inventory level decisions. Provide local finance support for spend tracking and control, and provide plant management with relevant financial data for decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Calculate and analyze material usage variances through production order settlement and daily syrup use tracking, working directly with the plant operations team. Provide support and direction to operations for yield improvement projects.
- Perform weekly labor distribution and analysis, calculating direct labor variances vs. standard costs, and indirect labor utilization vs. budget.
- Perform period closing activities, including settlement of production orders, variance calculations, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations. Must ensure overall data integrity and compliance with all financial policies.
- Provide oversight and audit function for the plant’s cycle count and inventory control process. Including validating compliance with all count policies, ensure inventory balances are accurate, and analysis and explanation for inventory adjustments. Includes raw materials, finished goods, and maintenance parts.
- Analyze various balance sheet accounts tied to plant related activity.
- Work with Corporate Accounts Payable team to resolve invoice and other payable discrepancies.
- Provide special analysis of spending by department and machine detail levels.
- Utilize SAP and Excel extensively for various projects and job performance requirements.

- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/ university with concentration in Accounting/ Finance
- 2 years’ experience using Excel (formulas, pivot tables and v look-ups)
