As a key member of the Actuarial pricing department, as an Actuarial Analyst, you will support our growth and financial goals by performing data mining and analysis that impacts foundational pricing and risk assumptions. You will provide accurate premium rate development, perform financial analysis to improve the competitiveness of our health plans.


 


Your responsibilities include analysis of claim and revenue projections to ensure the adequacy of premiums for Small and Large Group Health Insurance products. This involves the updating and testing of pricing  models, providing support to the development of rating recommendations, and assisting with the communication of results to our West region Health Plans.  As the Actuarial Analyst, you will also support rating implementation, premium rate filings, and regulatory compliance.


 

Requirements

Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Economics or similar degree

  • Must be on the Actuarial exam track, having passed two or more actuarial exams or achieved the ASA designation

  • 2+ years of experience working as in an actuarial role in a corporate environment preferred

  • Intermediate level of proficiency working with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, calculations, pivot tables, charts, graphs, etc.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience working with Small or Large Group Health Insurance preferred

  • Experience building actuarial models in SQL, SAS and/or VBA preferred
