Sanitation Supervisor

The 3rd SHIFT Sanitation Supervisor oversees sanitation employees to ensure that they follow sanitation protocols and procedures that meet USDA and Keystone regulations. Monitors staff time and attendance and ensures all subordinates follow employee safety policies and procedures. This position will be located at our Gadsden, AL Division (Birmingham metropolitan area) and additional responsibilities include and are not limited to:

* Supervises the Sanitation employees to ensure that they follow sanitation protocols and procedures to meet USDA and Keystone regulations. Provides coaching and training to staff to improve their sanitation methods and skills;
* Monitors and records staff time and attendance. Provides consistent disciplinary action in accordance with union contractual agreements; and
* Monitors the staff to ensure that they follow employee safety procedures and protocols.

Ideal candidates will have

* A high school diploma or equivalent (required); with at least 3 years of supervisory experience (required); candidates with supervisory experience in a union shop, and/or experience in a high speed production environment in the food industry, preferred;
* 1-2 years of sanitation experience
* Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives; with an ability to problem solve and facilitate solutions with limited direction; and
* Strong planning, organization, customer service, and written/verbal communication skills; with the ability to build strong trusted working relationships with internal and external business customers and executive level management;
* Basic computer literacy with the ability to do basic statistical analysis;
* Ability to communicate factual information and provide direction.
* Experience working in a 24/7 operation and working on a rotating day off schedule. Ability to work weekends and some holidays req'd
* Strong commitment to safety with the demonstrated ability to motivate others to achieve safety and productivity goals.
