Responsibilities

RESPONSBILITIES

  • Develop engineering solutions and detailed designs of LAN, WAN, Data Center and Network security architectures utilizing the output of network assessment techniques
  • Responsible for IPv6 address assessment, planning and migration activities.
  • Perform installation and configurations of Cisco, Juniper, F5, Check Point, Cisco ASA, network and security hardware and software.
  • Articulate solutions to such diverse constituencies as project managers, clients, business stakeholders and engineers.
  • Coordinate (with both project management and engineering) major systems events such as application upgrades, launches, load tests and deployments.
  • Develop all related documentations and test cases and execution plans.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and their applications in the enterprise.
  • Quickly understand and clearly communicative the business impact of technical decisions
  • Drive solutions to specific business problems through the effective use of technology.
  • Prepare technical reports, client presentations, design documentation, and manuals.
  • Assist Managing Principal in scoping and technical assessments, interviews and related activities.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

  • BS degree in a Computer Science related discipline or equivalent relative work experience.
  • Proven success in a customer facing technical consultant/advisor role designing and architecting complex and advanced enterprise networks.
  • 3+ years’ experience in the following…
    • LAN/WAN protocols (Cisco, Juniper, F5): OSPF, BGP, 801.1Q, MPLS, QoS, Multicast
    • Firewall/Network security: Check Point, Cisco ASA, IDS, IPS, Filtering, Radius, VPN, Riverbed Steelhead
    • Network troubleshooting using various tools such as Wireshark, Sniffer, Solarwinds, etc.
  • Knowledge and understanding of IPv6 address schemas & layout with the ability to lead training and education relative to IPv6 technology, concepts and troubleshooting
  • Knowledge of transition mechanisms such as: 6RD, 6to6, ISATAP, Teredo, DS-Lite NAT64, NAT464.
  • Strong understanding of network management tools (CiscoWorks, HPOV, Tivoli) is desired.
  • VoIP and knowledge of IP based protocols (SIP) is a plus.
  • Excellent writing skills and comfortable with presenting before large groups of people
  • Proficient in developing documentations of solution/configuration/operations in Visio and MS Office products
  • Strong documentation skills for network diagrams, test plans and other related records
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically to client sites.

CERTIFICATIONS

  • REQUIRED – Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) required.
  • REQUIRED – One or more of the following:
  • Juniper: JNCIA-FWV, JNCIA-Junos
  • F5: F5-CA (LTM/GTM essentials)
  • Check Point: CCSA
  • IPv6: Forum Gold Certified or equivalent

 

  • DESIRED – One or more of the following:
    • Cisco: Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) – R&S, Security, Datacenter (Highly Desired)
    • Juniper: JNCIA-FWV, JNCIA-Junos
    • F5: F5-CA (LTM/GTM essentials)
    • IPv6: Forum Gold Certified or equivalent
    • BlueCoat: BCCPA
    • Check Point: CCSA
    • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
    • MCSE / Linux (Redhat/SuSe/CentOS) or similar O/S administrator level certification
