About this job
The current available opening is for a flexible float/rover position providing support for people with intellectual/developmental disabilities in their homes.
The Position:
- Working directly with individual consumers providing direct support for independent living through assistance with daily living needs such as activities, transportation, meals, grooming and medications.
- Extensive documentation and recording of daily progress, med passes and behaviors.
- The position varies in location and hours.
(Other full-time, regular openings may become available in our Cedar Park, Bertram, Burnet and Marble Falls locations. These could include shifts for M-F 8AM-4PM, 4PM-midnight, midnight - 8AM as well as 48-hour weekend shifts).
Essential duties include:
- Monitoring and ensuring consumer safety at all times.
- Performing administrative and housekeeping duties as assigned.
- Thorough and accurate documentation.
- Facilitating consumer's self-administration of medication.
- Reconciling medication inventories.
- Transporting consumers to and from locations.
- Responding to problems and crisis according to facility procedures and behavior management guidelines.
- Communicating effectively with staff, directors and consumers.
Qualifications:
- Ability to model appropriate behavior and boundaries.
- Ability to become CPR certified (we provide training).
- Valid Texas Driver's License and appropriate driving record.
- Interest in working with people who have disabilities.
- Ability to pass criminal and background checks.
