PrideStaff is currently seeking a Business Development Manager for a Freight Forwarding company located near Elk Grove Village.
Ideal candidate will be interested in building career with a growth – oriented company, be motivated by a sense of urgency, be able to build client relationships (establish and maintain), have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Position is Monday through Friday, hours typically range from 8am to 5 pm HOWEVER in the FREIGHT FORWARDING/LOGISTICS industry you MUST be open to working overtime.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain FTL business throughout North America and other assigned countries
Prospect for leads to build a pipeline, including heavy cold-calling
Manage accounts to retain existing relationships and grow share of business
Succeed at heavy price and service negotiation with customers and carriers
Develop and maintain a strong carrier portfolio according to the carrier selection criteria
Identify business opportunities for company services
Create quotations and sales proposals for company services
Independently generate new sales revenue for your team
Understand and support the goals, policies and procedures of Logistics
Requirements:
Must have talent for negotiating
Has the mentality of a team player and desire to learn
Able to build client relationships quickly, in order to establish and maintain a profitable book of business
Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills
Have at least one to five years of experience with freight solution sales, marketing or customer service required
One to five years of experience with 3PL transportation or inside brokerage sales preferred
A college degree in business, logistics or transportation-related field preferred
