The IT Finance Manager is a strategic role within the IT Planning and Program Office at Pitney Bowes Inc. that supports the global CIO and others in the IT leadership team. In alignment with the strategic business goals to enable future growth of Pitney Bowes, the CIO and IT leadership team have identified a world class IT Financial Management capability as a key enabler for realizing untapped potential and business value from its global IT footprint. The candidate selected for this role will be instrumental in achieving this vision in coming years. Specifically, this candidate will be responsible for identification, analysis and reporting of costs and other financial aspects related to global IT Operations. To be successful in this role, the candidate must have deep understanding of IT cost drivers, expertise in collecting and analyzing relevant data and preparing IT financial reports/documents in a structure and format that is suitable for executive level audience. By collecting and analyzing IT Finance data and through ongoing interactions with key stakeholders across the global IT operations, this role will play a critical role in bridging Finance, IT and other Business functions.

The candidate should be able to lead the assigned responsibilities independently with minimal direction and supervision. The candidate must have exceptional analytical skills in areas of Finance focused on IT Operations. Excellent communication and presentation skills are essential to help simplify and enable quick understanding of complex IT financial data and information by Business and IT executives.

This position reports directly to the Vice President, Planning and Program Office and may have indirect reporting relationships to other key stakeholders or executives. The position will be based in Shelton, CT but may be required to work frequently from other two sites in CT (Stamford and Danbury). Occasional travel to other Pitney Bowes offices in the US and overseas may also be required based on business needs.



Key responsibilities:
Identification and analysis of IT costs and associated drivers - including Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) aspects across global IT Operations.

Performing and supporting IT Spend Analytics and Reporting processes / activities. This includes collaboration with IT Operations, Procurement and Finance stakeholders for financial analysis of IT contracts for categories such as Hardware, Software and IT Services (including outsourcing and hosting contracts).

Collaborating with Finance and other Business functions for extracting, structuring, analyzing and reconciling IT financial data from relevant source systems (e.g. GL extracts from SAP ERP and other enterprise applications).

Supporting IT Financial Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting related processes and activities (annual, monthly, other ad-hoc needs).

Supporting IT financial inputs/reviews in business cases and for other touch-points in the IT Demand Management, Procurement and Governance processes. Supporting project teams, IT and Finance functions in developing, analyzing and reporting on IT economics related aspects for major initiatives/projects.

Managing a small team of IT Finance resources and defining the optimal processes and governance framework for the IT Financial Management function. Coaching and mentoring of direct reports including direction and support for their ongoing learning and professional development.

Development, maintenance and gaining alignment on key IT Finance metrics and relevant governance process for measuring and reporting on those metrics.

Developing and maintaining IT Financial Management policies and procedures.

Supporting IT capital investment and operational expense requests and processes.

Developing, maintaining and supporting implementation of IT cost allocation, unit costing guidelines and standards.

Collaboration with Finance and other key Business stakeholders to develop and maintain costing model for IT. Supporting implementation of relevant changes in IT systems and Business applications (e.g. IT Cost Centers based on IT cost categories & owners, metrics data collection and reporting requirements).
Supporting actual versus planned variance analysis for IT costs.

Supporting activities related to IT Asset and Expense Management, including fixed asset costs and depreciation aspects.

Identifying and supporting IT Financial Management technology enablement requirements and initiatives (e.g. IT financial management and reporting tools and their integration with enterprise applications such as SAP).

IT Cost and other financial analysis to support activities or strategies related to mergers & acquisitions or divestitures, IT Operating Model and IT Sourcing options.

Staying aware of and supporting implementation of industry leading practices for IT Financial Management.

Identification and executive level articulation of IT financial opportunities, risks and mitigation options.

Identification, documentation and maintenance of IT baseline and benchmark costs (e.g. internal IT labor and external service provider costs, including contracts).

Qualification


Key qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent education and work experience. Master's degree in Management discipline/MBA preferred.

10 - 12 years of directly relevant work experience in Accounting/Finance primarily supporting IT functions for a large global organization. At least 5 years of relevant work experience must be in a managerial position in the IT Finance function.

Strong understanding of IT contract/procurement processes and familiarity with relevant financial provisions as it relates to Software, Hardware and IT Services (including outsourcing/hosting services and professional services).

Exceptional analytical skills with ability to interpret, structure, format and articulate complex financial and IT data sets into meaningful information for executive audience and decision support processes.

Highly detail oriented with strong focus on data integrity and accuracy. Ability to think creatively to make meaningful assumptions when relevant data is not available or under ambiguous / conflicting data points or information.

Must be reliable, result orientated and able to work well under pressure. Must manage time productively and consistently deliver high quality content / work products on time.

Excellent communications and presentation skills with ability to adjust communication styles depending on type of target audience.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other tools / systems used for financial analysis.

Exceptional teaming skills and ability to excel in matrix work environment where requirements can be often ambiguous.

Passion for working in a high performance work culture that is fast paced and is constantly evolving with changing and growing business needs.

Experience in working closely with/supporting IT Strategy and Planning and other IT leadership stakeholders in global organizations will be plus.
