Pediatric Nurse - (Peds RN - Pedi RN)
StartDate: ASAP Available Shifts: 8/10/12 D/E/N
CAMP RN for Camp is for individuals with developmental disabilities. RN will be one of six RN's on staff. Total staff numbers 225. Located in the Catskill Mountains, 2 and 1/2 hours North of New York City and 3 hours north of Nassau County's western border. Each year, more than 650 campers enjoy the wonders of the outdoors in a safe and fun environment. Average # of campers per session ranges from 130-160. The camp has an on-site, state-of-the-art infirmary is equipped to handle each camper's medical needs and is staffed by RNs with years of experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities. Additionally, the camp has access to a doctor in the local community.
The role of the pediatric nurse (Pedi RN / Peds RN) is to provide comprehensive, age-appropriate care to patients aged approximately 30 days to 18 years. Working in both inpatient and outpatient settings, pediatric nurses specialize in providing age-appropriate care for children with a variety of physical and mental disabilities and/or acute and chronic medical and surgical conditions. The Pedi RN also collaborates with the patient’s family to best promote healthful practices and disease prevention.
Required Qualifications
1. Willingness/Experience in working with developmental disabled people. They have children, teens and adults (6years-80years) campers.
