Spartan is currently hiring Metal Assembly Workers.

 

Job Description

As the Metal Assembly Worker, you will be under direct supervision, setting up, operate, or tend machines to brake, punch, shear, or trim sheet metal for walk-in and cabinet assembly production. Prepare machines for operation by changing the rollers and idlers for different metal thickness. You will be using a dial caliper to assist in shimming the rollers; use a feeler gauge to adjust the idler rollers adjusts and operates special press brake with a permanently installed die set which forms floor and ceiling metal. You will load work pieces into machines. Examine completed work pieces for defects and report defective pieces according to the Group Leader or Supervisor. Metal Assembler selects proper stops for standard and custom trim per print; read blueprints and assembly instructions.

 

Job Requirements

• Knowledge of basic arithmetic computation including fractions
• Skill in reading and interpreting floor plans, work prints, machine instruction manual, tape measure
• Skill in using small hand and power tools
• Ability to measure completed work pieces by verifying conformance to specifications using feeler gauge, calipers, square, and tape measure
• Ability to comprehend and follow work instructions and company policies
• Ability to evaluate and resolve problems
• Ability to communicate with others in a professional and productive manner
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Ability to work in a production environment without air conditioning
• Ability to plan ahead and anticipate consequences
• Ability to perform the work with concern for the safety of self and others
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required

 

Ideal Candidates

• Experience in manufacturing preferred but not required
• Committed to safety at all times
• Excellent attendance

 

Shifts: 1st Shift is Monday-Thursday 5:00 AM–3:30 PM, 2nd Shift is Monday-Thursday 3:30 PM-2:00 AM, and Weekend is Friday, Saturday & Sunday 5:00 AM-5:30 PM

Immediate Health Benefits available, Unlimited Referral Bonuses Available, Work 36 hours but get paid for 40 hours on the Weekend shift. Eligible to be considered for $500 retention bonus at end of 90 day probation period!
