Responsibilities

The Sales Compensation Manager will participate in the planning, implementation and administration of new and enhanced sales compensation programs, policies and procedures, and will ensure these programs are consistently administered and in compliance with company policies and government regulations. This individual is responsible for the strategy, analytics and administration of sales incentive strategies, structures and plans. This role will routinely assess behavioral and cultural impact, revenue generation, and effects of these programs on the organization as a whole. The role will fall under Business Operations with heavy interaction and collaboration with Sales and HR.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of sales incentive compensation across our sales channels from strategy design through administration
  • Determine competitive position of VDMS’ sales salary range structure; develop recommendations for annual structure and budget adjustments to maintain internal and external equity in sales pay plans
  • Accurately interpret, counsel, and educate sales representatives and managers on sales plan mechanics, policy and guideline interpretations and the use of contests and spiffs
  • Create new compensation systems, programs, or products as required by HR and the business (i.e. spiffs, President’s Club)
  • Assist with the draft and communication of all plan documents, offer letter templates and sales incentive training materials in conjunction with HR and Legal
  • Ensure that policies, procedures and programs are consistent with the company’s HR strategies and systems and state and federal employment law
  • Partner with the Finance team to develop analytical tools and models to forecast and manage plan expense, and drive performance through prudent plan design, review and evaluation
  • Reconcile sales incentive payment information from Billing to ensure accurate and timely payment of sales incentive compensation payments
  • Prepare a monthly analysis of compensation activity for Senior Management

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 8 years of incentive compensation experience required
  • Strong strategic, analytical, and financial skills
  • Advanced proficiency with Salesforce.com
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Suite products
  • Experience with presenting to senior leadership; ability to work cross functionality and ability to influence peers and other constituents
  • Prior experience maintaining strict levels of confidentiality concerning employee information
  • Extreme comfort with ambiguity; flexibility is a must
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year university in a business related field
  • MBA/CPA preferred
