Description

Fleet Mechanic III
The Fleet Mechanic is responsible for the preventative maintenance and repair of company vehicles including heavy truck, light truck, automobiles and material handling equipment. This individual also disassembles and overhauls motors, transmissions, clutches, rear ends and electrical systems.
Class A CDL required within 6 months of employment.

Location

This Fleet Mechanic position is located at our Norcross, GA facility.

Pay Rate

This position pays hourly and will be based on experience.

Schedule

This schedule for this position will be Tuesday through Saturday from 9:30am-6pm

Position Responsibilities
  1. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all vehicles and material handling equipment.
  2. Perform needed minor and major repairs to all vehicles and material handling equipment.
  3. Develop and maintain an effective working relationship with the sales management team that generates maximum productivity for sales.
  4. Diagnose vehicle failures and disassemble, repair and reassemble parts as necessary.
  5. Respond to service calls.
  6. Complete all necessary documents, including vehicle records.
  7. Maintain records of daily check list (DVIR pre-trip inspections).
  8. Make recommendations to the Fleet Manager to control and/or reduce our expended and improve efficiencies.
  9. Ensure that all required paperwork is accurate, legible and submitted in a timely manner.
  10. Maintain a clean and safe fleet shop and fleet service vehicles in accordance with AIB and EHS standards.
  11. Maintain a neat, clean and appropriate image.
  12. Keep Fleet Manager advised of problems and opportunities.


Physical Demands:
  • Basic mechanic attributes that require sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, lifting and climbing throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to lift heavy parts and objects that weigh up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to perform work in a non-temperature controlled environment.
  • Must wear personal protection equipment when on site at all times.
  • Ability to be exposed to various cleaning chemicals and lubricants

Qualifications

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • 21 years of age or older
  • 5 years experience maintaining and repairing tractors, trailers, other heavy equipment and material handling equipment.
  • Lift, push and pull a minimum of 50lbs repeatedly
  • Pass a drug test, criminal background, verifiable employment verification, social security, and motor vehicle record check
  • Valid commercial drivers license (CDL A) OR the ability to obtain a CDL A within the first 6 months of employment
