The NorthPointe Hotel and Conference Center located in Lewis Center is seeking an experienced Catering Events Manager to join their team. Candidates must have previous experience in hotel and/or conference center food and beverage operations. This position will oversee the operations of all catered events. They will also assist with detailing catering events booked by the Director of Catering and Catering Sales Manager, on occasion. Flexible availability is essential within this role.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide scheduling of Conference Center set-up employees, Catering Servers, Catering Bartenders and Catering Captains on a weekly basis.
  • Supervise daily Food and Beverage operations for all catered events while directing the service team during catered events.
  • Acts as the property MOD (Manager On Duty) during shifts when needed.
  • Complete payroll on a bi-weekly basis for employees assigned to the position.
  • Coordinate all training of current employees and new hire employees on specific job duties.
  • Inspect all work area’s and all employee’s performance and conducts performance reviews as needed.
  • Collaborate with other Department Managers on organization of storage areas on property.
  • Develop and assure the proper execution of the schedule.
  • Conducts inventory of china, glass, silver, linen and catering equipment on a quarterly basis.
  • Actively participate in the recruitment of open positions.
  • Comply with all company rules and regulations for safe and effective operations.
  • Perform all accountabilities in a timely and efficient manner including but not limited to inventories, banquet checks, payroll, scheduling.
  • Assists Food and Beverage Director as necessary.
  • Create and distribute banquet event orders and distribute change orders.
  • Follow-up with clients regarding final guarantees, room setup and other catering details.
  • Provide vendor coordination for upcoming functions.
  • Work with kitchen staff to plan and create menus for clients.
  • Filing & creation of diagrams.
  • Manage and update client information in Delphi and guest files.
  • Handle site visits in the absence of a Catering Manager.
  • Handle client taste tests.
  • Act as liaison between Catering Sales and the Operations Team by disseminating appropriate information as it relates to the meeting and/or event.
  • Maintain strong client relations and ensure that meeting/event specifications are communicated and executed for a successful meeting experience.
  • Greet clients during their event and make sure that expectations are being met.
  • Assist with the preparation and execution of Bridal Shows.
  • Equipment and Design Rental.
  • Vendor Referral Relationship Building (pre and post event).
  • Additional duties as assigned.

  • Some experience in a supervisory role in a hotel and/or conference center food and beverage operation.
