Picker/Packer - Appliance Parts - Part-time

Summary of duties and responsibilities:

The order picker/packer position is responsible for being able to both pick parts for customer orders and pack them up in a timely matter. This position calls for someone who has high energy, a sense of urgency, is a team player, and maintains focus throughout a whole day.

Picking/Pulling- Orders come in via the computer and the orders get batched with other orders to be pulled. The batches get cut, and the picker signs in/out batches of orders and is ultimately responsible for the accuracy of the order. Picker must stay organized, pull parts in specific order, and be very accurate. Pickers load the orders onto a rolling cart, along with other orders, and then he/she delivers the cart to the packing line. Pickers must be able to pay attention to detail and pick parts at a fast pace, in order to meet accuracy requirements and deadlines.

Packing- Customer orders come down rollers in totes, after being delivered by Pickers. Packers are required to pull parts out of totes and place into an appropriate size box, fill box with bubbles or wrap parts with bubble wrap and tape the box shut. Must be able at keep up with volume surges, pay close attention to detail, work well with others, and maintain a great attitude.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
1. Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs. repeatedly and on a regular basis.
2. Visual requirement is for close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus.
3. Must be able to work the majority of shift on his/her feet (walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, carrying, etc.).
4. Ability to deal with stressful situations as they arise.
5. Must be able to pass a drug test and/or background check.
