Positions in this function are involved in design, development and deployment of tools, process and consulting around all enterprise-wide and/or customer compensation programs supporting UnitedHealth Group and client group objectives of attracting, retaining and motivating key talent with programs that are competitive and responsive to external influences and internal objectives.


 


We are looking for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are able to multi-task.  Experience with compensation surveys, structures and overall compensation design are desired for the Sr. Compensation Analyst role.


 


Major Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


• Participates in multiple compensation ad hoc projects at both the business and enterprise-wide levels within UnitedHealth Group. Independently leads moderately complex projects with only minor oversight.


• Participates on teams to develop eCompensation tools. Acts as tool owner for ongoing maintenance and enhancement projects.


• Drive project-oriented compensation changes as needed


• Incentive plan design and administration considering internal factors, industry best practices and business needs


• Assist with mergers and acquisitions with involvement from due diligence through the integration phase


• Works directly with Human Capital Partners on field initiated projects with minor oversight.


• Conducts annual analysis for compensation programs/policies such as salary ranges and salary increase budget and make recommendations.


• Participates in salary surveys conducted by third parties. Coordinates the annual participation in physician salary surveys, which includes coordinating data requests from our Finance organization.  Works with selected vendors to facilitate custom surveys on behalf of UnitedHealth Group businesses.


• Prepares and publishes market data for use by business segments. Analyses the data and highlights issues for the Associate Compensation Director and/or Director Compensation - Business Segment.


• Evaluates new jobs for appropriate title and grade, typically at the non-exempt and non-management exempt levels. Evaluate feasibility and design of non-standard pay programs (e.g., shift differentials, premium pay, bilingual pay, on-call pay)


• Responds to manager's compensation-related questions/issues through the HRdirect case management system.


• Through the use of our HRIS system, develops complex queries, reports and analysis to meet customer requests.  Also ensures data integrity in HRIS system through direct actions and/or influence on the segments.


 

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Business or Human Resources related field or equivalent compensation experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of compensation experience including
• Specific technical expertise in a multiple of the following: Salary survey participation, market data analysis, leading moderately complex projects, job evaluation, salary range analysis, and HRIS reporting.
• Strong history of quickly building relationships and gaining credibility with human capital peers.
• Demonstrated project management skills.
• Experience working in a human resources shared service delivery model strongly preferred.
• Ability to lead and work effectively within teams and across the organization.
• Experience working in a matrix environment preferred.
• Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or comparable ERP System.
• Professional certifications, such as CCP a plus
