HFS is a national program providing a multi-faceted, multi-disciplinary approach to improve pregnancy and birth outcomes, with primary focus on Utilization Management and on Case Management of high risk pregnant members. Responsibilities include management of antepartum cases, postpartum cases and readmissions for pregnancy related complications or conditions within 56 days following delivery.
The HFS Medical Director acts as a resource to improve access to affordable health care services at the most effective and efficient level of care. The HFS Medical Director identifies and communicates opportunities for engagement and collaboration with internal and external physicians, the staff, and other providers. The HFS Medical Director collaborates with the staff to drive outcomes with each and every contact, and ensure safe discharge for the member.
Responsibilities for the HFS Medical Director include:
Conducting review and discussion utilizing information and guidelines related to cost-effective health care delivery and quality of care
Utilization management focusing on appropriate level of care and safe discharge
Functions as the SME for healthcare affordability initiatives at the local and national market
Support all clinical quality initiatives and peer review processes

-MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license
-Board Certified in an ABMS or AOBMS specialty OB/GYN
-5+ years clinical practice experience -Intermediate or higher level of proficiency with managed care
-2+ years Quality Management experience
Comfortable working with computer/technology
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated
