Position Description:


Employees in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by creating new and modifying existing Software applications. Primary contributor in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and supporting all types of applications consistent with established specifications and business requirements to deliver business value.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Solid Organizational skills with focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent Analytical, Problem Solving and Troubleshooting abilities.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Providing accurate and timely estimates for tasks.
  • Provide support and leadership in critical production support issue resolution.
  • Support the team for application availability, reliability and stability on a7 by 24 by 365 basis.
  • Conduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and recommend a corrective action plan.
  • Work with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues meeting or exceeding Service Level Agreements.
  • Conduct Code review to ensure the work delivered by the team is of high quality standards.
  • Work with business to prioritize Production Issue resolution.
  • Work with the Service Manager in Process Improvement initiatives as directed by the Service.

Requirements


Required Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of additional experience OR Bachelor's Degree.
  • 3+ years of strong programming skills in  C++, Java, Perl,
    Python, C, bash shell scripting, Powershell, Database access, SOAP, REST.
  • Previous working knowledge of Linux and Windows usage and
    administration.
  • Previous experience and working knowledge of Network Security, Operating System Security, and secure Programming.
  • Ability to pass NAC (Pass DOD Background check).
  • United States Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain favorable
    adjudication following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 .


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Background or training in information security
  • Familiarity with HIPAA
    regulations

As
a requirement of UnitedHealth Group's contract with the Department of Defense, this
position requires U.S. citizenship and proof of favorable adjudication
following submission of Department of Defense form SF86 ,
(the National Agency Check or “NAC”). 
Successful completion of the NAC process is a requirement for continued
employment in this role.  NAC processing
will be initiated by our TRICARE Security Officer post-offer, and can take 3-6
months for a final decision communication from the Department of Defense.  Candidates will be allowed to begin
employment with UnitedHealth Group in this role based on an interim clearance,
and final results will be communicated as they are received.  Failure to obtain final NAC approval will
result in termination from this role.
