We are currently looking for a Sr. Java Application Architect as well as someone who can fill in the role of a hands-on Sr. Developer on the team. This person will work with our customer organization and teams to analyze the requirements, work through solution's required specification in joint application design and partner with the development team to ensure that development happens per schedule-meeting defined success criteria and architecture.
Identity and Access Management and application web security framework team within UHG IT is looking for a Sr. Java Application Developer with strong, hands on experience building enterprise applications in both web space as well as those that can be used as enabling framework/SDK for other business units to build their applications on. We are looking for someone who has been involved in designing solutions for large enterprise applications. Candidate should have in-depth knowledge of software design and Java EE and their application to create real world reusable software components.

Responsibilities include:
- Articulate clearly when presenting solutions on a cross-team basis or to higher management
- Create application and solution diagrams using UML
- Oversee code reviews and coding standards
- Understand security vulnerabilities from outside as well as internal and how to address them
- Willing to learn technologies, create Proof-of-Concept applications showing their applicability and teach these technologies to the teams
- Required to assist as needed with solving production problems
- Ability to create and implement Design and Development Patterns
- Design, analyze, develop, code, test, debug and document programming to satisfy business requirements.
- Work with enterprise architects and business teams to analyze requirements and map them to technical deliverables.
- Work on existing, in-flight and future projects.
- Develop architectural approach to meet key strategic business initiatives.
- Ensure project successfully implements the designed solution following architectural tenets.
- Conduct vendor analysis and proof-of-concepts for new technologies/solutions.
- Help assess the planning for retirement of products and migration plans for the functional evolution of the system infrastructure.
Requirements
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years or more with full-lifecycle development experience with Java server side application technologies
- Skilled in IOC Container and Spring frameworks (3.0.x or greater)
- Experience with JUnit and test-driven development
- Hands-on familiarity with SOA and Restful web service architecture and development
- Proficiency with architectural design tools such as Enterprise Architect.
- Facility with discussing and explaining our solutions with other development teams, architects and executives.
- Familiarity with SDLC process and ability to design solutions with Class, State and Sequence diagrams
- Location must be in Plymouth, MN or Basking Ridge NJ
Assets:
- Hands-on use of industry standards in security space with protocols and standards like OAuth2, SAML, XACML, etc.
- Experience developing/integrating identity and access management applications
- Experience with LDAP/database and proficiency with Spring Security, Spring JDBC and Spring AOP
- Hands-on experience testing with mocking frameworks (preferably, but not limited to, Mockito)
