Aerotek Scientific, LLC, is seeking a qualified Cage Wash Technician for a short term contract role at a prominent research institute in Seattle, WA.
1. Perform washing and sanitizing of animal cages and other equipment, including removal of dirty bedding and operation of cage washer.
2. Fill cages with bedding and prepare acidified water for sterilization.
3. Wrapping items to be sterilized.
4. Use autoclave to sterilize caging, equipment, and supplies.
5. Maintain a log of temperature, pH and sterilization test results.
6. Move clean caging, equipment and supplies to storage areas.
7. Cleaning shelves, walls, and other room surfaces and sweeping and mopping floors with disinfectant.
8. Organize animal care supplies and ensure adequate amounts are available.
9. Follow proper safety policies and procedures when handling hazardous agents.
Requires high school education or equivalent, and on-the-job training. Prior experience with autoclaves or cagewashing equipment preferred but not required.
