Within the Federal National Security and Emergency Preparedness (NSEP) practice, Lewin consultants help federal agencies develop and implement new programs and evaluate existing policies for populations such as military personnel, veterans, and citizens in natural disasters. The NSEP team provides research, analysis and consulting support a wide variety of health and benefits programs. Specific areas include program evaluation, statistical and economic analysis, predictive modeling and strategic planning, policy research and payment strategy.


 


As a Managing Consultant within the NSEP Practice, you will direct and manage the planning, design and implementation of a wide range of projects which require an understanding of the economics of healthcare.  Project content could include cost of illness studies, development of micro simulation models, various Healthcare studies. You will serve as the primary client contact for methodological and Healthcare Economics expertise and translating client needs and/or objectives into specific deliverables in a timely and cost-efficient manner. Additionally, you will ensure that analytical and quantitative research projects are conducted with sound methods and approaches. In this capacity, you will use your content area research experience, experience in business development, grant or proposal writing, and program evaluation.  Your scope will include projects of different sizes, directly client interface, and representation of The Lewin Group at national conferences.


 


Your key responsibilities may include:



  • Directing and managing large projects or a series of smaller projects

  • Responsibility for project budget management, deliverables, client relations, and staff supervision

  • Management of several direct reports

Requirements


  • Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, Labor Economics, Machine Learning or the like with 10 years of post-graduate relevant healthcare research and/or policy analysis, program evaluation and design and/or health care consulting experience. 

  • PhD preferred with minimum of 4 post-graduate relevant healthcare research and/or policy analysis, program evaluation and design and/or health care consulting experience. 

  • 4+years managing mid-large-scale  quantitative / analytical projects including staff, budget and subcontractor management, timelines, deliverables and client management experience or 5+ years working with federal or state health policy and programs and/or clients.

  • 4+ years experience in medical claims analytics

  • Experience in micro simulation modeling

  • Experience conducting cost of illness studies

  • Expertise in Health or Labor Economic Methodologies and advance quantitative methods including modeling and SAS Programming

  • 2+ years experience managing direct reports and project teams

  • Experience including leading proposals and/or grants
