Job Summary:
The position entails design and implementation of OSS used to support NaviSite ' s service provider infrastructure, applications, and databases. These systems consist of a large number of commercial and in-house developed applications, with high-availability and high-scalability requirements.
We have an immediate need for an Operational Support Systems (OSS) Engineer, to manage, maintain, and administer a number of business critical systems here at Navisite. These systems will include the BMC ITSM product suite, BMC Atrium CMDB and BMC ADDM.
Tune and refine existing functional requirements for BMC ITSM product suite and participate in the development of an integrated BMC ITSM product suite and monitoring/event management operational strategy and architecture.
Configuration and administration of auto-discovery, CMDB data population and reconciliation, as well as modeling Configuration Item (CI) data are among the expected skills. Capabilities should extend to OS-level administration (Linux), exposure with relational databases, and strong troubleshooting skills.
For the right candidate, this role may expand into other OSS areas, including Fault and Performance management systems.
Required Experience:
The candidate should have direct experience with Service Desk and Configuration Management systems, preferably in a high-volume, service provider environment.
Knowledge of Remedy Mid-Tier Administration.
Knowledge of Atrium Integration Engine is a must. This is used to maintain the Remedy user creation and updates among other things.
Knowledge of ITSM 7.6.04 and above administration is a must (Incident, Change and Asset Management modules)
Knowledge of development in CMDB 7.6.04 and above is a must.
Knowledge of Remedy data migration tools is a plus.
Strong knowledge of UNIX / Linux at user and administrator level is desirable.
- - Minimum 2 years of experience architecting, implementing, developing and integrating BMC AR System based solutions (custom or home grown) and
BMC Remedy ITSM.
- Additional Desired Experience:
Knowledge of WSDL; have used AR System to publish and consume Web Services.
Knowledge of administration of Apache Tomcat 6.0.35 or above on Linux.
Knowledge of JVM optimization within the Mid-Tier environment is a plus.
know use of overlays feature available on AR System 7.6.04 onwards and possess sound development techniques.
Knowledge of ITIL practices.
Solid Oracle experience, from a user and administration perspective (PL-SQL, Stored Procedures, Oracle configuration, etc.) is desirable. Administration knowledge is a plus.
- Having worked in Remedy environments having a mid-size to a large user base and have experience with multi tenancy and implementing row level security solution within Remedy application would be a plus.
