Responsible for the product planning and execution throughout lifecycle of complex products or multiple projects related to realizing business objectives.  Predicts emerging customer needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them, including the design, development, management or sun setting of new, existing or acquired products.  Broad business approach; results may have segment-wide impact Solves unique and complex problems with broad impact on the business.  Ensure that identified product development projects are conceptualized, designed, and implemented appropriately and in coordination with other ongoing efforts. Lead overall strategy of which projects will move to detailed design and how all ongoing efforts and existing capabilities are leveraged to optimize client value. Manage cross-functional communication (including senior executive communication) on status of development efforts.  Ensure that all necessary project plans and documentation are in place.  Organize and lead multi-departmental work teams to design and implement new programs and services.  Work with finance to design cost and pricing models that maximize sales and marketing potential of the program.  Lead the development of new ideas for capability development and/or expansion.

This role is responsible for supporting new business opportunities and managing existing product capabilities for Optum Financial Service capability suite.  This role is responsible for aligning and negotiating with client leadership.  Vendor management is also a key responsibility of this role, as it relates to outsourced platform strategies.      

This position will play a key role in supporting the team's efforts to bring financial solutions to support OFS long-term strategy.  This position will also lead internal teams and projects to support all product level issues/enhancements, ensuring key accountabilities within functional areas are assigned and delivered in support of new and existing products and services.

Responsibilities include:

 

 


  •  Leads, coordinates and is responsible for production of an integrated platform strategy aligned to support the overall OFS business strategy.

  •  Leads cross-functional prioritization of critical business items to support quality delivery and meet consumer needs. 

  •  Prioritizes and positions capability needs for executive presentation and alignment as necessary.  

  •  Responsible for market capability trend monitoring to maintain competitiveness of platform.

  • Lead cross-functional capital planning process for applicable platforms.

  • Support overall vendor management with input on capability planning and issue management.

  • Impact of work is most often at the cross-functional, team and client-leadership level.

  • Identifies issues, analyzes, documents critical facts & presents recommendations to parties needed to reach consensus & decisions.

  • Assists in ideation and development for new capabilities based on market feedback or research.

 

Requirements



  •  Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent work experience·       

  •  7+ years of business development & marketing/product strategy

  •  High level of technology acumen and platform experience

  •  Understanding of the health care industry is a plus

  •  Excellent organization, communication & presentation skills

  • Strong ability to effectively interact with & influence all levels of the organization

  • Experience and success in presenting to clients and senior leadership to influence decision-making

  • Ability to prioritize & respond effectively to multiple demands, supporting multiple platforms in an ever evolving organization

  • Creative & logical problem solving skills, strong financial & situational assessment skills which are executed independently

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Experience in Account-based Financial Services industry is a plus
