Aerotek is currently seeking a manual machinist for a Client in the Oil and Gas Industry
This is not a production machining position. Contractor will be machining different parts and making new pieces to use in the re-building of drilling equipment. This will require using measurement devices (Mics, depth gauges, ID/OD and dial Calipers) in order to machine parts to very small tolerances. Contractor will be using multiple machines (all manual) to include: Mills, Lathes, Vertical Lathe, Press, Drill.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow the orders of the lead machinist or shop foreman
- Machine all types of necessary parts on various machines to the provided specifications or drawing
- Understand and follow the implemented API process and what is expected
- Perform other duties as required by management
- Must be able to work overtime as needed
- Must demonstrate a strong work ethic
- Must have strong math skills
- Must be able to follow directions and read prints
- Must have majority of own measuring equipment
