Medical Laboratory Technician - (Med Lab Tech - MLT)
StartDate: 09/08/2014Available Shifts: 8 D Pay Rate: $31.00 - 36.00
Permanent Med Tech or Med Lab Tech needed ASAP in Kansas. Requires a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Technology, Associate of Science or Associates of Applied Science Degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical or biological science or a Medical Laboratory Technology related degree. Must have thorough knowledge of procedures, theory, and techniques employed in medical laboratories. Skilled in use of laboratory equipment. Duties: Performs laboratory procedures in the following areas of the laboratory - Bacteriology, Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Serology, and Urine Analysis. Receives or obtains various specimens, runs quality controls and runs laboratory procedures. Sets up new calibration on tests as required, and is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all tests performed and performing duties in accordance with established methods and techniques/recognized standards. Performs other duties as assigned. Adheres to all laboratory procedures and policies, including all Health and Safety, Infection Control, and Hazardous Waste policies and procedures. Participates in all departmental meetings. Reports to Lab Supervisor and Lab Director.
Working under the supervision of a medical technologist, medical laboratory technicians perform routine tests in various areas of clinical laboratory testing, including:
Required Qualifications
Requires a Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Medical Technology, Associate of Science or Associates of Applied Science Degree from an accredited institution in chemical, physical or biological science or a Medical Laboratory Technology related degree. Must have thorough knowledge of procedures, theory, and techniques employed in medical laboratories. Skilled in use of laboratory equipment.
