The Time Warner Cable Corporate office currently seeks a Software Engineer for our OSS Department. Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.

Essential Job Functions:
Responsibilities for this position include development of new software and features for the three in-house developed platforms that provide monitoring and troubleshooting tools for a wide range of users from call center representatives to exec level users. This candidate is not only required to develop features and enhancements, but also test, document and deploy these feature requests across geographically diverse hardware deployments. In addition to new development, the candidate is also required to troubleshoot and bug-fix defects with the software as well as work with local support on hardware and OS related issues. Additionally, the candidate is expected to be part of a 24/7 on-call rotation where they will need to be responsive to issues as they are escalated to our team.

Job Requirements:
- 3+ years software development, troubleshooting, testing, and deployment
- 2+ years Experience in the cable industry recommended
-Proficient in Perl and PHP
-Proficient with Mysql and Apache
-Solid understanding of Javascript
-Solid understanding of various network protocols such as SNMP, HTTP, SSH
-Solid understanding of SOAP, XML, and REST
-Solid understanding of software development methodologies including Agile and Waterfall
-Comfortable working in a Unix environment
-Shell scripting a plus
-Atlassian/Jira experience a plus

Education and Experience:
Bachelor ' s degree (B.A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education and experience.

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities:
No Supervisory responsibilities with this position.

Travel 5 %
