GUT-CHECK / SUMMARY: We're looking for three full-time employees with retail experience and a desire to develop a long-term career. You're a smart, high-energy, positive-minded pet lover. Maybe your skills have gone unnoticed at Petco or PFE, and you think you'd be a better fit at a smaller store more intensely focused on helping pets and their owners. Or maybe you're currently under-appreciated in a larger corporate retail environment and would like to have more of an impact on your store. We'll train you about the pet world and our role in it. Depending on your experience, you could start as a Sales Associate or Team Leader.

Woodlands Pet Food & Treats is a relatively new store focused on healthy food and top-quality accessories & supplies for pets. Everything we do centers around helping our customers maintain the health of their pets, and enrich their lives.

Required: (do not respond if you can't answer yes to all)
* Do you have a contagious enthusiasm for pets & people?
* Are you willing & able to work weekday mornings, evenings, and weekends?
* Are you willing & able to start work before 10AM and/or end after 8PM?
* Can you regularly lift & carry 50 lbs without concern?
* Do you love to learn about animals and pet care?
* We have stores in Mill Valley, Greenbrae, San Rafael, and Novato. Do you have the means to get to each of these locations?

Extra Credit:
* Do you have experience as a Team Leader, Asst. Manager, or similar key-holder experience in a retail environment?
* Or, do you have what it takes to be a key-holder, but that promotion just keeps getting put off...?
* Retail or business experience related to pets
* Familiarity with holistic & healthy pet foods
* Strong interest in the diet of pets, and all aspects of pet care
* Volunteered and/or supported non-profit animal rescue organizations

Basic Duties: (for everyone)
* Greeting customers & pets
* Providing thoughtful customer service & advice
* Opening / Closing tasks
* Cleaning the pet wash
* Receiving deliveries, stocking shelves
* Carrying customer purchases out to the car
* Keeping the store neat, clean, and orderly

Key-Holder / Manager Duties:
* All of the above, plus
* Open and Close the stores, as scheduled
* Provide clear, helpful direction to other team members
* Handling sticky customer situations
* Execute opening and closing procedures
* Make daily bank deposits
* Responsible for prompt stocking on delivery days
* Ongoing quest for pet-related knowledge for you and your team

This is a full-time position, possibly starting out part-time and moving to full-time. Full-time means 40 hours per week, and part-time means between 20 and 30 hours per week. As a retail store, everyone is expected to be able to work during the day, evenings, and weekends. We have four locations, and you will be scheduled to work in all four stores. Some time after your initial training, you will be assigned a home store.
