About this job

The Healthcare Economics Consultant is a combination programmer/analyst role that
will provide support for network optimization and accountable care shared savings programs.


The Healthcare Economics Consultant researches and investigates key business problems
through quantitative analysis of utilization and healthcare costs data,
provide management with root causes and trend drivers, and identify potential areas
for medical cost and utilization improvements (healthcare claims data analysis skills preferred).



Positions in this function:
- research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses
of utilization and healthcare costs data.
- provides management with statistical findings and conclusions.
- identifies potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies.
- provides data in support of actuarial, financial and utilization analyses.
- Reviews the work of others.
- Develops innovative approaches.
- Sought out as expert.
- Serves as a leader/ mentor.

Requirements

Qualifications:
- 4 year degree (or higher) required.
- 2+ years data analysis experience required (healthcare industry experience desired).
- Substantial analysis & problem solving experience
- 2+ years programming (SAS or Sequel) required.
- Medical cost or healthcare financial analysis experience preferred
- Experience analyzing large datasets
- Proficient with MS Excel
- Good verbal and written communication skills
