The Plant Manager position is located in Beecher, WI. Duties include and are not limited to: Develop and work towards goals Implement Lean processes into business' processes Improve supply chain/inventory process Develop lead personnel's ownership of company policies Achieve on time deliveries above 90% Help in the reorganization of the drafting process for the new equipment Be a lead person in the change of the machine through drafting process of the new equipment You will be responsible for purchasing of external materials. You will be in charge of all personnel at the northern plant and will need to assist them with policy and procedures. Work as a team with others on production and production personnel issues. Learn existing company policy and procedures and then advise on how to improve and streamline with supporting data. Attend / participate in company strategic planning meetings with other members and bring new ideas on how to improve our process or policy with supporting facts for change. Work with lead team to assist estimating on hours and material cost for projects. Attend and participate weekly production meeting to understand the delivery schedule for the current projects as well as upcoming production. Provide delivery dates on items going into production, provide weekly hour schedule for production team, strategize to meet customers demand and keep work load as balanced as possible utilizing machines and personnel between both plants. Research and develop any innovation that will help make the Company more efficient in process or policy. Meet with Project Managers and Drafters to determine what needs to be drawn and details to be used. Help in the design of construction for any project when required. Provide input on drafting priorities for scheduling of drafting Help write misc. work tickets Piece billing of projects to be produced in shop when necessary In charge of all production in the Plant including the following: Scheduling projects through the Plant to meet customer demands on high-pressure quick turnaround orders. Helping to pull production through. Run weekly production meetings with production employees at each plant, to communicate schedule and safety issues and motivate employees Continually try to improve work process and organization of the shops Work with team to insure organization of material and accuracy of material pull slips. Improve accuracy and speed of physical inventory procedures. Work with purchasing staff to improve ordering process to insure best prices and current availability or back order dates. Inform Project Managers, shipping & receiving when projects are completed Training of shop personnel or assigning someone to do specialized training Coordinate with team leaders -job assignments and completion dates To work with the personnel in all other Groups to insure the Company maintains its professionalism, profitability and operating philosophy. Scheduling staff to meet customer's demands and material availability. Promoting flexible scheduling to create efficiency and productivity. Examples-running two overlapping shifts, alternating lunches to keep machines processing, starting earlier or later, alternating days of the week to include Sat. Also, scheduling staff to balance work with personal issues-maintaining hours required for position. Provide projected shipping schedules for 2 weeks at production meetings Insure that the paper flow runs as smooth as possibletickets, purchase orders, material pull sheets, glue up sheets, reviews, etc. Use hand book as a guideline and HR assistance to handling personnel issues always remembering to treat individuals with respect. Support and explain in a positive light, Government and company policies and guidelines. Interview and hire personnel as needed To review production personnel at least yearly or as required, providing personnel feedback on progress, with clear detailed goals for areas of progress, improvement and growth. To take any disciplinary action on individuals as needed following the guidelines in the handbook. To make sure plant and machinery are properly maintained and working conditions are clean and safe. Help to enforce existing, develop and implement safety policies to ensure the safety of our team and make sure we comply with current OSHA rulings The job of the plant manager is to insure the safety, moral, and productivity of the team is at its best, so that the company maintains profitability and a good reputation. In order to accomplish these goals the plant manager will need to work with all members of the team in a cooperative effort. Learn Company computer systems, Excel programs, Timberline, policy, procedures etc Help to reorganize the positions with Lead personnel that have been managing things at the plants, Review all shop employees. Assess and help to strategize how to improve the process with ordering material sooner in the production process, and implement.
