Manpower in O'Fallon, MO is seeking to fill an immediate opening for an experienced Plant Manager for a permanent placement located in Wentzville MO. Minimum grade 12 education is required, further education a definite asset. 3. Must be familiar with TS 16949/ISO requirements, Health and Safety legislation & Significant Environmental Aspects including: a) Propane (Lift Truck Fuel) b) Surplus Resource Utilization/Energy Use c) Waste Management d) Hazardous Materials (WHMIS) 4. Strong technical background 5. Blueprint reading knowledge. 6. Team oriented & have excellent communication skills. 7. Excellent organizational skills. 8. Computer skills a definite asset. 9. Must have & maintain an appropriate and valid Driver's license. 10. Must have & maintain legal access/entry to the United States. Job Description: 1. Schedule manufacturing activities based on customer releases to minimize inventory while providing the customer with prompt delivery. Customer releases may be derived from EDI transmissions. 2. Ensure that orders are released in the chronological order (FIFO) unless circumstances dictate that the release date is overridden to comply with customer needs. 3. Maintain communication channels with direct reports to ensure efficient daily operations. Assist direct reports with attendance management, performance management & corrective action of production employees. 4. Receive & review Shift reports from Production Supervisors & address areas of concern/problem. 5. Per the QS9000 requirements, ensure that production floor is equipped with proper work instructions & procedures to carry out manufacturing activities. 6. Ensure all work in process is properly tagged in accordance with procedures & instructions. 7. Ensure properly maintained equipment & appropriate trained personal are available to carry out manufacturing activities. 8. Ensure that the O.H.S.A. & internal safe operating principles are in place & adhered to. Comply with provisions of the O.H.S.A. and Regulations and take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances for the protection of the worker. Comply with any orders & requirements of inspectors, directors & other agents from the M.O.L. Acquaint a worker & supervise with any hazard present in the workplace & provide information, instruction & competent supervision for workers. Be visible, assume leadership, assist in developing & initiating an effective health & safety attitude. Participate & initiate in continuous safety training. 9. Assist in the creation & implementation of quality control plans. 10. Review & disposition of nonconforming products & assist in providing solutions in prevent of their reoccurrence. 11. Oversee product handling to ensure products are properly handled so as to prevent damage & stored in designated areas. 12. Provide input in continuous improvement & APQP meetings. In addition, provide continuous review of departmental processes to improve overall efficiencies. 13. Provide leadership & direction to Production Department. As such, the incumbent is responsible for the assignment of work to direct reports, as well as, attendance management & performance management. When necessary, implement corrective action to bring about positive change in direct reports to ensure optimum efficiency and quality. 14. Perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager or designate.
