Job Description:

The Information Technology (IT) Finance Analyst provides support to promote the innovative use of technology for strategic and profitability objectives. The Finance Analyst is responsible for the financial support of the Portfolio Team. This requires understanding projects, applications, IT infrastructure and the key drivers of cost. The Finance Analyst is required to analyze projects, infrastructure and applications in order to validate and or control cost. The Finance Analyst is responsible to insure that the portfolio team is trained and understands all of the financial management processes and tools for effective financial management and oversight. The Finance Analyst will be responsible for supporting executive decision making by participating in project teams, performing discounted cash flow analysis of alternatives and presenting the financial aspects of projects to senior management.

The Finance Analyst must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be effective in project team environments. He or she must prepare and manage the financial track of IT projects and be effective in giving presentations of technical information to senior executives.

The Finance Analyst must have the following traits: highly analytical, strong problem solving skills, careful and precise in all tasks, driven to improve processes, and seeks satisfaction in a job done well. The Finance Analyst must be familiar with financial models and tools used to determine project financial benefits and profitability such as: Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), Return On Investment (ROI), etc.

Accounting Requirements: Finance Analyst must be knowledgeable of debits and credits, writing journal-entries, analyzing General Ledger accounts, bookkeeping concepts, and Accounting/Month-End-Close processes, all in  accordance with GAAP.

Education:

The desired Finance Analyst will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Finance, Accounting, or Economics or the equivalent in education and work experience. Degree is preferred.
