Position Purpose:
 In accordance with store standards and guidelines, the Fixture Development Supervisor is responsible for the design and development of new point of purchase displays for our retail stores.  Collaboration and partnership with cross-functional teams is critical to taking projects from inception to installation in the field

Supervisory Responsibility:
 

Direct supervision of exempt level  Assistant Buyers and Coordinators including interviewing, hiring, training, assignment delegation and follow through, performance appraisal and disciplinary action including termination when necessary.


 


Work Environment:
 

The majority of tasks are performed indoors in an office environment with little or no exposure to hazards.  Travel via automobile or airplane to store locations to research, organize or implement store remodel projects is necessary up to 25% of the time.

Education:
 
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and a 4-year degree, or the equivalent combination of education and related management experience demonstrating organizational, presentation, project management and problem solving skills are required.  Demonstrated skill using AutoCad - Rel. 2000 is required. 
 
Experience:
 
A minimum of 5 years retail experience in store planning and design is required, as is expertise in store openings/acquisitions procedures.  Previous retail store management experience, preferably with PETCO, demonstrating a strong understanding of store operations is required.  Supervisory or lead experience is preferred, demonstrating the ability to manage projects and people.  Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal communication and problem-solving skills are necessary to effectively interact with all associate levels in order to accomplish tasks through others and under changing priorities.
